Project name and description
Ysa is a self-taught full time painter who uses delicate tones in acrylic colours of folksy, rural themes and every day scenes on textured canvas. The masterful blending of man and nature in his environment, the style she termed as "overlapism", or the overlapping of design elements is part of her signature charm. Her artistic skill started as a pastime, but lent itself to a wonderful process of self-discovery.
Graduate of Communication Arts at the University of the East, a member of The Saturday Group of Artists, Art Association of the Philippines and Agos Kulay (Watercolour Society). She won 3rd Place (Making Changes Award) at Fine Art America and was one of the 20 Finalists at the AAP-ECCA Semi-Annual Abstract Art Competition in 2007.
She has already participated in various group exhibitions, local and abroad, including shows in Italy, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Her latest solo show entitled "Turning Point", was held at the Art Elements Asian Gallery in February 2017, located in SM Aura, Pasig, Philippines.
Ysa's painting's aspire to remind the audience of the importance of being grateful, of being simple at heart, the power of love in the family, and the value of women to society, and to the world.
